[edit] Why don't the wikis share special pages?
I'm confused - why do I have multiple different copies of all Special pages, depending on whether I'm in the www.wikicities.com namespace, or the <wikicity-wiki>.wikicities.com namespace? Even the list of Special:Listadmins is different?!?
Maybe I'm missing something crucial about the Wikicities concept, but it doesn't make sense for me to have to monitor 17 different watchlists if I contribute to multiple projects here... and even if I help with just one, there's still pages on the mainspace that link out to the wikicity space, so I'll have two watchlists at the least. On the main Wikipedia, images, articles, and Wikipedia: edits all show on the same list... nae'blis (talk) 01:45, 18 Oct 2005 (UTC)
All Wikicities are separate wikis. This helps maintaining the wikis, i.e. we don't have to give people Wikicities-wide adminstrator previlege so they can admin their own wikis, and people can view change history for wikis they are interested in. The only thing that these wikis share, AFAIK, is the user account database. There are RSS for recent changes, so you can use a RSS tool to collect them into one place (see Wikicities blog). Watch lists don't seem to have RSS, so I don't know about them. Hope these information help. — Danielwang 02:32, 18 Oct 2005 (UTC)
